GDGeorges Dor
Georges Dor (March 10, 1931 - July 24, 2001) (born Georges-Henri Dore) was a Québécois author, composer, playwright, singer, poet, translator, and theatrical producer and director. Born in Drummondville, Dor undertook a career in radio as a disk jockey and news director. He worked for Radio-Canada, the national Canadian broadcaster, where he became a director for the Evening News. He wrote poems for many years, but in 1964 he was encouraged by friends to compete in an amateur singing competition. He began singing professionally in early 1965, and released his first album in 1966. One of the songs from this album, his composition "La Manic", whose lyrics were a love letter written by a construction worker on the Manicouagan power project, became the most successful record ever by a Quebec chansonnier. (Né à Montréal, le 7 octobre 1928 - ) Poète, romancier, chansonnier et dramaturge, Raymond Lévesque a étudié la musique. Il débute dans la chanson en 1946 comme auteur-compositeur-interprète. De 1948 à 1953, il est animateur à la radio, chanteur et comédien durant les débuts de la télévision. Il participa également à la première pièce de Marcel Dubé, Zone, qui gagne le premier prix du festival d'art dramatique du Canada. Il obtient à cette occasion le prix du meilleur rôle de soutien. Wendy Cope is an award-winning contemporary English poet. She was educated at Farringtons School and read history at St Hilda\'s College, Oxford. She now lives in Winchester with the poet Lachlan Mackinnon. Following her graduation from St Hilda\'s College, Cope spent fifteen years as a primary-school teacher. In 1981 she became Arts and Reviews editor for the Inner London Education Authority magazine- Contact. Five years later she became a freelance writer and was a television critic for The Spectator magazine until 1990. Three books of her poetry have been published (Making Cocoa for Kingsley Amis in 1986, Serious Concerns in 1992 and If I Don\'t Know in 2001), and she has edited several anthologies of comic verse. In 1998 she was voted the listeners\' choice in a BBC Radio 4 poll to succeed Ted Hughes as Poet Laureate. She was a judge of the 2007 Man Booker prize.

Ben Doyle was born in Warsaw, New York, in 1973. He completed his undergraduate education at the State University of New York at Oswego and West Virginia University. His first collection of poetry, Radio, Radio, (Louisiana State University Press, 2001) was selected by Susan Howe for the 2000 Walt Whitman Award.
