Robert Sheckley

Robert Sheckley, born in 1928, grew up in New Jersey and served in Korea before selling his first story in 1951. A master of satire and irony whose work has been called \"galactic humor,\" Sheckley was one of the first to portray gadgets that think for humans, such as intelligent refrigerators. Among his classic stories are \"Shape\", \"Specialist\", \"Seventh Victim\", and \"Warm\" (all 1953), \"The Prize of Peril\" (1958), \"The Store of the Worlds\" (1959), \"The People Trap\" (1968), and \"Can You Feel Anything When I Do This?\" (1969); \"Shall We Have a Little Talk?\" (1965) and \"What Is Life?\" (1976) were Nebula and World Fantasy award nominees respectively. Lars Gustafsson

Lars Gustafsson, född 17 maj 1936 i Västerås i Västmanlands län, är en svensk filosof, författare och poet. År 1982 bosatte han sig i Austin i Texas i USA, men återvände 2006 till Sverige. Han bor nu på Södermalm i Stockholm. Lars Gustafsson studerade litteraturhistoria, estetik, sociologi och filosofi vid Uppsala universitet samt blev filosofie licentiat. Med avhandlingen Språk och lögn blev han doktor i Uppsala 1978. Han var redaktör för BLM 1962-1972 samt är ledamot av Akademie der Wissenschaften und der Literatur i Mainz och Akademie der Künste i Berlin. Vid University of Texas at Austin arbetade han som professor i germanska studier och filosofi fram till maj 2006. Gustafsson är känd som betydande romanförfattare och lyriker. Bland hans mer berömda verk kan räknas pentalogin "Sprickorna i muren", bestående av de fem böckerna "Herr Gustafsson själv", "Yllet", "Familjefesten", "Sigismund" och "En biodlares död", vilka alla kan sägas spegla alternativa liv för författaren själv....

(b 25 Dec. \'40, London) Poet, lyricist, singer, producer, percussionist. Active on London jazz-poetry scene early \'60s, then worked with Cream, writing lyrics for hits \'Sunshine Of Your Love\', \'White Room\', \'I Feel Free\', \'Politician\' etc which he said would pay the rent for the rest of his life. After Cream split \'68 he continued to work with Jack Bruce (see his entry), also his own Jazz Poetry \'66, A Meal You Can Shake Hands With In The Dark \'69 (as Pete Brown and His Battered Ornaments, Chris Spedding on guitar), Things May Come And Things May Go, But The Art School Dance Goes On Forever \'72, and Thousands On A Raft \'70 (as Pete Brown and Piblokto, with Jim Mullen). He worked with other groups; an album of demos by Back To The Front was later issued. Phoebe Pratten

Phoebe Pratten was born in Canberra Australia in 1975. At the age of three, she was diagnosed with Peripheral Neuropathy. By 14 she was not able to walk anymore, as the disease affected the muscles. At the same time she couldn\'t make use of her hands or her arms, so she needed to find different ways of holding the pen. Her interests include art, alternative health and writing poetry. The first collection of poetry \"Layers of Silence\" was published in 1999.
