Bram Stoker
Bram Stoker, a Scottish novelist, was born in Dublin, Scotland on November 8, 1847. Although he was the author of many horror stories, Stoker is best known for his most potent story, Dracula (1897). The gothic romance, which is based on vampire myths and on the occurence of supernatural phenomenon, became the prototype of all subsequent vampire stories. Many plays and films have been developed from the story of Dracula.

EMEdwin Morgan
Edwin George Morgan OBE (born 27 April 1920) is a Scottish poet and translator who is associated with the Scottish Renaissance. He is widely recognised as one of the foremost Scottish poets of the 20th century. In 1999, Morgan was made the first Glasgow Poet Laureate. In 2004, he was named as the first Scottish national poet: The Scots Makar. Morgan was born in Glasgow and grew up in Rutherglen. He entered the University of Glasgow in 1937 and, after interrupting his studies to serve in World War II as a non-combatant conscientious objector with the Royal Army Medical Corps, graduated in 1947 and became a lecturer at the University. He worked there until his retirement in 1980. Anne Bronte s-a nascut la 17 ianuarie 1820 la Thornton, Yorkshire, Anglia. Era cel mai mic dintre cei sase copii ai reverendului Patrick si a sotiei sale Maria Bronte. Alaturi de celelalte doua surori ale sale, Charlotte si Emily si de fratele Branwell, ea a supravietuit mamei, care moare in 1821, si altor doua surori, Maria si Elizabeth, care au decedat in acelasi an – 1825. Cea mai mica dintre surorile Bronte, Anne a ramas in istoria literaturii britanice ca romancier si poet. DLD.H. Lawrence
D.H. Lawrence (1885-1930), scriitor, critic, poet si pictor englez, a fost una dintre cele mai proeminente figuri ale literaturii engleze a secolului XX. “Snake” si “ How Beastly the Bourgeoisie is” sunt probabil cele mai popularizate poezii. David Herbert Lawrence s-a nascut pe 11 septembrie 1885 in Eastwood, Nottinghamshire, in centrul Angliei. Era al patrulea copil al unui miner sarac si alcoolic. Mama lui D.H. Lawrence era o fosta invatatoare, cu o educatie mult superioara celei a sotului sau. Copilaria lui Lawrence a fost dominata de saracie si de neintelegerile dintre parintii sai. Primește o bursă la Nottingham High School și lucrează ca funcționar într-o fabrică de instrumente chirurgicale. După terminarea studiilor la Nottingham University, devine profesor la vârsta de 22 de ani. Mama lui Lawrence a murit in 1910, el ajutand-o sa moara cu o supradoza de somnifer. DBDan Brown
Dan Brown (n. 22 iunie 1964 în Exeter, New Hampshire) este un autor american de thrillere detective de senzație, după ce a avut diverse ocupații (compozitor de cântece și profesor de limbă engleză), sau mai precis de simbolologie). Born in New York City in 1946, Foster was raised in Los Angeles. After receiving a Bachelor\'s Degree in Political Science and a Master of Fine Arts in Cinema from UCLA (1968, l969) he spent two years as a copywriter for a small Studio City, Calif. advertising and public relations firm. His writing career began when August Derleth bought a long Lovecraftian letter of Foster\'s in 1968 and much to Foster\'s surprise, published it as a short story in Derleth\'s bi-annual magazine The Arkham Collector. Sales of short fiction to other magazines followed. His first attempt at a novel, The Tar-Aiym Krang, was bought by Betty Ballantine and published by Ballantine Books in 1972. Robert Browning
Robert Browning was born on May 7, 1812 in Camberwell, which is south of London. His birthday falls within a couple of months of the births of Dickens and Thackeray. He was the eldest of 2 children, born to Robert and Sarah Anna Browning. His father was a bank clerk. He attended London University for a short while in 1828, but received most of his education by readinghis from his father\'s library. His first poem, Pauline, was published when he was 21. It was soon followed by Paracelsus (1835) and Sordello (1840). Angela Olive Stalker was born in Eastbourne, Sussex, England on the 8th May 1940. War had broken out in Europe and she was evacuated as a child to Yorkshire to live with her maternal grandmother, a working-class, matriarchal, domineering, feminist bread-\'n-buta granny of the north of England. Carter left school and started work at the age of nineteen for the Croydon Advertiser, following in the footsteps of her father - who was a Scottish journalist working in London.
