Duritz joined and performed in the Bay area band "The Himalayans" until 1991 at which time he left to form Counting Crows. Before he left, however, material was recorded which eventually lead to the release of the 2002 album "She likes the Weather". The album has a track called "round here" which was eventually re-recorded on the Counting Crows album "August and Everything After". During this period in his life he was also involved in the San Francisco based band 'Sordid Humour'. Mihai Ursachi (n. 17 februarie 1941, Băile Struga, județul Iași - d. 10 martie 2004) a fost un poet și traducător român. În anii '60, a fost închis pentru încercarea de a trece înot Dunărea lângă Porțile de Fier. Până în 1981, când a emigrat în SUA, nu a avut nici un fel de loc de muncă stabil. Vara lucra ca salvamar la Lacul Ciric, lângă Iași, activitatea sa literară însumând mai multe volume de poezie, eseuri și traduceri din limba germană. A tradus în limba română creațiile unor scriitori ca Hölderlin, Schiller și Paul Celan.
