The town of Slatina is mentioned for the first time in an official document issued by Vladislav I Vlaicu on January 20th, 1386. Tom Waits
In the 1970s, Tom Waits combined a lyrical focus on desperate, lowlife characters with a persona that seemed to embody the same lifestyle, which he sang about in a raspy, gravelly voice. Born in New York City in 1946, Foster was raised in Los Angeles. After receiving a Bachelor\'s Degree in Political Science and a Master of Fine Arts in Cinema from UCLA (1968, l969) he spent two years as a copywriter for a small Studio City, Calif. advertising and public relations firm.
