Life and Work She was born on April 29, 1936 to Russian Jewish immigrant parents in Avellaneda, a suburb of Buenos Aires, Argentina. A year after entering the department of Philosophy and Letters at the Universidad de Buenos Aires, Pizarnik published her first book of poetry, La tierra más ajena (1955). Soon after, she studied painting with Juan Batlle Planas. Pizarnik followed her debut work with two more volumes of poems, La última inocencia (1956) and Las aventuras perdidas (1958). From 1960 to 1964 Pizarnik lived in Paris. There she worked for the journal Cuadernos, sat on the editorial board of the magazine Les Lettres Nouvelles, and participated in the Parisian literary world. Pizarnik also attended a variety of courses at the Sorbonne, including contemporary French Literature. She died in Buenos Aires of a self-induced overdose of seconal. With mountains near his house, he found adventure and became a skilled swordsman and led a life of a knight-errant when he was older. Po traveled and married a daughter of a retired prime minister in 727, but soon went back to traveling the regions and neighboring countries around him. His most exciting travels were to the capital Ch’ang-an where he was presented to the emperor Hsuan-tsung and was showered with extravagant gifts. He was then appointed as a member of the Hanlin Academy and was lionized by fellow scholar-officials. The next travel he experienced was in 744. Duritz joined and performed in the Bay area band "The Himalayans" until 1991 at which time he left to form Counting Crows. Johann Christian Friedrich Hölderlin (20 March 1770 – 6 June 1843) was a major German lyric poet. His work bridges the Classical and Romantic schools. Having spent most of his life tormented by mental illness, he suffered great loneliness, and often spent his time playing the piano, drawing, reading, writing, and enjoyed travelling when he had the chance. The poetry of Hölderlin, widely recognized today as one of the highest points of German literature, was little known or understood during his lifetime and slipped into obscurity shortly after his death; his illness and reclusion made him fade from his contemporaries' consciousness – and, even though selections of his work were being published by his friends already during his lifetime, it was largely ignored for the rest of the 19th century. William Diehl (December 4, 1924 – November 24, 2006) was an American novelist and photojournalist. Diehl was fifty years old and already a successful photographer and journalist when he decided he had not heeded his life calling. The day after his 50th birthday he began his first novel, Sharky's Machine, which was made into a movie directed by and starring Burt Reynolds. Diehl later completed eight more novels, including Primal Fear, which became a movie by the same name starring Richard Gere and Edward Norton. Diehl died at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia on November 24, 2006, of an aortic aneurism. He was a resident of Woodstock, Georgia at the time of his death and was working on his tenth novel. For him reading, living, the writings of so many did not seem to be enough, so he began writing his own stories that still echo in my memory and in my heart. I remember that one day I went to him and asked “What are you writing about?”. Looking at me for only a second and returning his eyes at the ink stained notebook he answered: “My life”. Regretful, I confess that that was the last dialogue we had. After that I began reading, reading everything he was writing. Two years after his death, I had met someone who changed everything. Since the first time, you may think I am exaggerating, but it really was the first time I saw her when I felt this sudden urge of writing. Jelaluddin Rumi was born in the Eastern part of the Ancient Persian Empire near Balkh (presently Afghanistan), on September 30, 1207.
