Lassi Nummi
Lassi Nummi (born 1928) considers himself a prose-writer who has strayed into poetry. In a career spanning almost half a century and 25 collections of poetry, his preoccupations, and his central metaphors, have remained constant: landscape, trees, bushes, blades of grass. Interview by Tarja Roinila; poems translated by Herbert Lomas and Anselm Hollo 'During my "social period" I was on the board of the Writers' Union, and its chairman from 1969 to 1972; after that I worked for the Uusi Suomi newspaper and for the PEN Club, whose chairman I was from 1983 to 1988. I was a member of the Bible translation committee for the entire period of its existence, 17 years. A completely different choice would have been to become either a Buddhist or a Christian monk, or then to be a really convinced down-and-out- that might have been the most elegant solution. One could have regulated one's liquid intake, but the freedom of movement would have been pleasant. At the moment I am working out how much...

Jalal ad-Dīn Muhammad Rumi
Jalāl ad-Dīn Muḥammad Balkhī, also known as Jalāl ad-Dīn Muḥammad Rūmī, and popularly known as Mowlānā but known to the English-speaking world simply as Rumi (30 September 1207 – 17 December 1273), was a 13th-century Persian (Tajik) Muslim poet, jurist, theologian, and Sufi mystic. Rūmī is a descriptive name meaning "the Roman" since he lived most of his life in an area called Rūm because it was once ruled by the Eastern Roman Empire. It is likely that he was born in the village of Wakhsh, a small town located at the river Wakhsh in what is now Tajikistan. Wakhsh belonged to the larger province of Balkh, and in the year Rumi was born, his father was an appointed scholar there. Both these cities were at the time included in the greater Persian cultural sphere of Khorasan, the easternmost province of Persia, and were part of the Khwarezmian Empire. I was born in Cluj-Napoca on the 11th of September 1970. I have learned to read, write and love over there. In 1991 I moved to Brisbane, Australia. I hold a bachelor degree in International Business. Later on I followed a couple of courses in Psychology. I mainly write in Romanian, that's what makes me feel closer to the places I left. However I do write in English, sometimes it feels like the words find me better this way, or maybe it's the other way around. I read many English books, biographies, poetry, etc.

I was born in Tg-Jiu ( the beatiful place where people might admire Brancusi's monumental masterpieces), Romania. After getting my Master's degree in Mathematics from University of Bucharest and working for four years as Junior Assistant Professor in Romanian-American University, Bucharest, I decided to leave my country in order to study some more Mathematics. After spending two years in Montreal, Canada, I moved to USA where I am currently doing my Ph.D in Mathematics. Writing poems helps me convey ideas and feelings to other people. It happend that two short poems of mine, translated in French, got published in " North Texas World Literatures Review" Vol. 2, ETC... , run by the Foreign Language Department of UNT, Denton, TX, USA.

I was told I was born, without my consent, on the 3rd of August 1976. I got all the necessary childhood diseases and diplomas in order to further attend and graduate The Faculty of Letters, History and Theology (University of the West Timisoara) and become a teacher. I haven't published anything. Poetry is a way of exercising both the brain and the heart, just my way of keeping fit :) I love spring, chocolate, dogs, stones, children, nature, kind hearts, Dire Straits, Chris Rea and many other things. One thing I believe in: impossible is nothing. anastasia365@yahoo.com http://anastasia333.blogspot.com/

In 1988 I graduated the Techincal University of Bucharest, Metallurgy - Forging & Heat Treatments. In 1995 I've reconsidered my career plans and headed to IT&C. In 1997 I graduated my first master in Computers- Databases. In 2007, I finished the second master in Computers & IT. Otherwise? I like writing. I'm doing that since I was 10, and I just couldn't get rid of this "habit". I haven't published anything until august 2006, and I decided to start on the Internet. As for the others, I'm a common person, with my "lows" and "hights", like anyone else... I've published my first book, in Romanian, "Inner Rhythms" in april 2007. I'm also writing and publishing on several sites and blogs. Published books: "Ritmuri Interioare", 2008, ISBN 978-973-87654-6-7; "Autodezvoltare, Ocultism, Extrasenzorial", 2009 ISBN 978-973-0-07327-0; "Casa și Familia", 2009, ISBN...

"Well, I've been a disclaimer for twenty-four years Poor mother drowned in a pillow of tears Im well known in story, famous in song The black sheep, the blemish, the one who went wrong The black sheep, the blemish, the one who went wrong My crime is discomfort, my mind ill at ease Old crow on my shoulder, my favorite disease My siblings, my rivals might tend to my wake Grieve me not brothers, I was mother's mistake Grieve me not brothers, I was mother's mistake And all the grand expectations of an epic of wealth Leave me long to crawl back to the womb Well, I've tasted your grace, placed it back on the shelf Drag your pedigree wives to your tomb Drag your pedigree wives to your tomb Well, I came from this city, a victim of peace But I've grown far too filthy to attend to the feast So I'll take to the hills to live savage and free I don't need nobody, nobody needs me I don't need nobody, nobody needs me" http://www.obliothedagger.blogspot.com/
