Percy Bysshe Shelley was born August 4, 1792, the first of seven children born to Timothy Shelley, a country squire who became a baronet in 1815 upon the death of his father, Sir Bysshe Shelley. Percy attended Sion House Academy from 1802-4 and then Eton, where the young intellectual and idealist encountered the public school system of \"fagging,\" in which upperclass boys tyrannized their juniors, who ran errands and acted as servants. Afterwards Shelley equated school with prison. Although University College, Oxford, where he enrolled in 1810, came as something of a relief, within a few months he was expelled along with his friend Thomas Jefferson Hogg for refusing to acknowledge or deny authorship of a pamphlet entitled The Necessity of Atheism. His father visited him in London after his expulsion, insisting that he renounce his friend Hogg and his beliefs, which included atheism, vegetarianism, free love, and political radicalism; Shelley refused. BABraulio Arenas
Braulio Arenas (La Serena, April 4, 1913 - †Santiago May 12, 1988) was a Chilean poet and writer, founder of the surrealist Mandrágora group. Braulio Arenas lived most of his youth in the north of Chile, moving in his teens to Talca to study. There he encountered Teófilo Cid and Enrique Gómez Correa among others, and participated to literary activities with them. Years later, he started law studies in Santiago, which he soon abandoned to focus on writing. Through Eduardo Anguita, he met Vicente Huidobro, father of "Creationism" literary movement, which disputed literary inovations with Dada and Surrealism. Influenced by these European currents, Arenas founded with some friends, in 1938, the Surrealist group Mandrágora. This circle supported the Popular Front government. The same year, one of his short story, Gehenna, was published in Miguel Serrano's Antología del verdadero cuento en Chile. Gershom Scholem (December 5, 1897 – February 21, 1982), also known as Gerhard Scholem, was a Jewish philosopher and historian raised in Germany. He is widely regarded as the founder of the modern, academic study of Kabbalah, becoming the first Professor of Jewish Mysticism at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Scholem is best known for his collection of lectures, Major Trends in Jewish Mysticism (1941) and for his biography Sabbatai Zevi, the Mystical Messiah (1973). His collected speeches and essays, published as On Kabbalah and its Symbolism (1965), helped to spread knowledge of Jewish mysticism among non-Jews. Su infancia se desarrolló primero en Étretat, y más adelante en Yvetot y se vió entristecida por las continuas disputas entre un padre disoluto y violento y una madre neurótica, aunque se sabe que ella fue su mentora literaria. Maestro indiscutible dominó la narrativa dandole un matíz sórdido y muy humano; esto se refleja tanto en sus relatos, así como también en sus tres colecciones de recuerdos de viajes, y en sus seis novelas, entre ellas se pueden citar: \"Una vida\" de 1883; \"Bel Amí\" de 1885; \"Los dos hermanos\" de 1888; \"La mano izquierda\" de 1889 y \"Nuestro corazón\" de 1890. Juan de Jáuregui y Aguilar (Sevilla, 24 de noviembre de 1583, - Madrid, 11 de enero de 1641), poeta, erudito y pintor español del Siglo de Oro. Sus padres fueron el riojano Miguel Martínez de Jáuregui, señor de Gandul y Marchenilla, caballero veinticuatro de Sevilla y doña Isabel Hurtado de la Sal. El padre de origen hidalgo y de ascendencia vasca (su abuelo Martín de Jáuregui era natural de Vergara, y la madre perteneciente a la oligarquía comercial sevillana).
