René Descartes (1596-1650) is one of the most important Western philosophers of the past few centuries. During his lifetime, Descartes was just as famous as an original physicist, physiologist and mathematician. But it is as a highly original philosopher that he is most frequently read today. He attempted to restart philosophy in a fresh direction. For example, his philosophy refused to accept the Aristotelian and Scholastic traditions that had dominated philosophical thought throughout the Medieval period; it attempted to fully integrate philosophy with the 'new' sciences; and Descartes changed the relationship between philosophy and theology. (Trois-Rivières, le 13 novembre 1938 - Montréal, le 12 octobre 1994). Poète, nouvelliste et romancier, Gérald Godin fait des études classiques au séminaire Saint-Joseph. Il devient journaliste au Nouvelliste (1958-1961, 1962-1963), puis au Nouveau Journal (1961-1962). Il est recherchiste (1963-1964) puis chef d’information (1964-1968) à Aujourd’hui (télévision de la SRC).... Avocat, journaliste et homme politique, Charles Laberge est né à Monréal le 21 octobre 1827, d’Ambroise Laberge, marchand et de Rose Franchère, sœur de l’explorateur Gabriel. Il fait ses études au Collège de Saint-Hyacinnthe (1838-1848), où il débute dans le journalisme en fondant un journal, Le Libéral. Admis au barreau en 1848, après avoir étudié sous la direction de René-Antoine-Richard Hubert, il pratique d’abord dans sa ville natale puis s’installe à Saint-Jean d’Iberville. Enrique Lihn Carrasco, poeta, dramaturgo, novelista, crítico y dibujante chileno. Enrique Lihn nació el 3 de septiembre de 1929 en Santiago de Chile. Realizó sus estudios básicos en el Saint George College y posteriormente en el Colegio Alemán.
