Robert Browning was born on May 7, 1812 in Camberwell, which is south of London. His birthday falls within a couple of months of the births of Dickens and Thackeray. He was the eldest of 2 children, born to Robert and Sarah Anna Browning. His father was a bank clerk. He attended London University for a short while in 1828, but received most of his education by readinghis from his father\'s library. His first poem, Pauline, was published when he was 21. It was soon followed by Paracelsus (1835) and Sordello (1840). A year later, Pippa Passes, the first in a series entitled Bells and Pomegranates was published; the remaining seven parts appeared between 1841-46. In 1846, Browning eloped with Elizabeth Barrett and lived with her in Italy until his death in 1861. Various difficulties made the poet\'s requested burial in Florence impossible, and his body was returned to England to be interred in Westminster Abbey. I was born in Cluj-Napoca on the 11th of September 1970. I have learned to read, write and love over there. In 1991 I moved to Brisbane, Australia. I hold a bachelor degree in International Business. Later on I followed a couple of courses in Psychology. I mainly write in Romanian, that's what makes me feel closer to the places I left. However I do write in English, sometimes it feels like the words find me better this way, or maybe it's the other way around. I read many English books, biographies, poetry, etc.

Edmond Rostand est né le 1er avril 1868, à Marseille. Il fait d'abord des études de droit à Paris et s'inscrit au barreau, mais ne pratiquera jamais cette profession. Après avoir pensé à la diplomatie, il décide de se consacrer à l'écriture de la poésie et du théâtre. Il fait la connaissance de la poétesse Rosemonde Gérard, (1871-1953), petite-fille du maréchal Gérard, avec laquelle il se marie le 8 avril 1890. Le couple aura deux enfants : Maurice, né le 26 mai 1891 et Jean, futur biologiste de renom, le 30 octobre 1894. Jules Aldolphe Aimé Louis Breton, né à Courrières (Pas-de-Calais) le 1er mai 1827 et mort à Paris le 5 juillet 1906, est un peintre et poète français. Son père, Marie-Louis Breton, est maire de Courrières. Sa mère meurt alors qu\'il n’a que quatre ans. Il étudie tout d\'abord au collège Saint-Bertin à Saint-Omer où il est pensionnaire, puis au collège royal de Douai. Il fait son apprentissage auprès de Félix de Vigne à Gand et de Gustave Wappers à Anvers en Belgique, puis poursuit sa formation à Paris en suivant les cours d’Ingres et d’Horace Vernet. Il se marie en 1858 avec Élodie de Vigne, la fille de Félix de Vigne. Le couple a un enfant unique, Virginie Demont-Breton, qui naît en 1859 et qui suivra les traces de son père en devenant elle-même peintre. Elle épousera le peintre Adrien Demont.
