ADAdam Duritz
[[eng]] Adam Duritz is an innovative lyricist and piano player who brings the same soul to his friends and lifestyle as he does to the beautiful lyrics and music that he performs. Duritz joined and performed in the Bay area band "The Himalayans" until 1991 at which time he left to form Counting Crows. Before he left, however, material was recorded which eventually lead to the release of the 2002 album "She likes the Weather". The album has a track called "round here" which was eventually re-recorded on the Counting Crows album "August and Everything After". During this period in his life he was also involved in the San Francisco based band 'Sordid Humour'. After the Himalayans lost Duritz and the Counting Crows were formed, Duritz's new band gained a huge following and the release of their acclaimed 1993 album was a huge success. Biography Early Years Kurt Weill was born on 2 March 1900 in Dessau, Germany. The son of a cantor, Weill displayed musical talent early on. By the time he was twelve, he was composing and mounting concerts and dramatic works in the hall above his family\'s quarters in the Gemeindehaus. During the First World War, the teenage Weill was conscripted as a substitute accompanist at the Dessau Court Theater. After studying theory and composition with Albert Bing, Kapellmeister of the Theater, Weill enrolled at the Berlin Hochschule für Musik, but found the conservative training and the infrequent lessons with Engelbert Humperdinck too stifling. Edna St. Vincent Millay (February 22, 1892 – October 19, 1950) was an American lyrical poet and playwright and the first woman to receive the Pulitzer Prize for Poetry. She was also known for her unconventional, bohemian lifestyle and her many love affairs. She used the pseudonym Nancy Boyd for her prose work. Millay was born in Rockland, Maine to Cora Lounella, a nurse, and Henry Tollman Millay, a schoolteacher who would later become superintendent of schools. Her middle name derives from St. Vincent's Hospital in New York, where her uncle's life had been saved just prior to her birth. In 1904 Cora officially divorced Millay's father for financial irresponsibility, but they had been separated for some years prior. N-am gasir nicaieri o biografie completa. Ofer un articol din publicatia \"Jurnalul de Vest\": Dragos Bucurenci e genul acela de produs antipatic al societatii de consum: ambalajul îti spune ce contine, dar nici macar vînzatorul nu-ti poate spune la ce serveste. E fabricat în Bucuresti, a fost depozitat central (citeste Tineretului si nu comenta) pîna la vîrsta majoratului, cînd s-a trezit transferat în interes de familie pe linia de demarcatie dintre Rahova si Ferentari. Dupa patru ani de tatonari reciproce cu cartierul, cu toate ca a avut o relatie excelenta cu vecinii si o toleranta dumnezeiasca pentru manea, si-a aranjat un virament si a aterizat pe raftul de deasupra Cinematecii, pe strada Eforie. Sunt un copil în creștere. Biografia mea începe acum 17 ani, dar nu conține nimic relevant pentru o antologie, mai ales pentru că textele mele nu vor ajunge acolo. Sunt un copil anormal într-o școală cu mulți copii normali cu părinți normali, profesori normali și tot ce poate fi mai normal într-un oraș normal dintr-o regiune anormală a unei țări normale din Europa. Sunt voluntar și sunt mândră când pot spune că am organizat ceva pentru cei din jur din propriile forțe și cu ajutorul celorlalți voluntari. Iar ce fac eu nu e perceput ca "normal" de persoanele din anturajul meu (de care voi scăpa în curând). Tot ce am zis aici are un singur scop: să demnonstreze faptul că disprețuiesc cuvântul "normal" și tot ce implică el. Și faptul că o carieră strălucită mă așteaptă.

José Saramago (n. 16 noiembrie 1922 Azinhaga ) este un scriitor portughez. În 1998 a primit Premiul Nobel pentru Literatură. Saramago reușește să construiască pe teme deseori suprarealiste (de exemplu desprindera peninsulei iberice de continentul european), romane cu o acțiune și cu protagoniști foarte din realitate! Romanul Ensaio sobre a cegueira ( Eseu asupra Orbirii sau Orașul Orbilor ) conține în detaliu aspectele pshihologice și sociologice ale comportamentului uman, într-o anumită situație. O parte din romanele lui descriu diferite epoci istorice ale Portugaliei, însă nu sunt în primul rând romane istorice, ci caracterizări, uneori ironice, alteori triste, de destine umane. Autorul s-a nascut la 8 martie 1978 in Oradea. Primii pasi in scoala i-au fost indrumati de invatatoarea Maria Bughiuri de la Scoala cu clasele I-VIII "Dimitrie Cantemir" din Oradea. Gimnaziul l-a urmat in cadrul Colegiului Pedagogic "Iosif Vulcan". In perioada 1992-1996 a urmat cursurile Colegiului Tehnic "Mihai Viteazul". In anul 2002 a absolvit Facultatea de Drept din cadrul Universitatii "Tibiscus" din Timisoara. Pasiunea pentru literatura a avut-o de mic copil, inca de pe bancile scolii primare. SALVADOR DALI – pictor, desenator si scriitor spaniol. S-a nascut la 11 Mai 1904, la Figueras, in Catalonia. A studiat la Academia de Belle Arte "San Fernando" din Madrid (1921-1925). Dupa o perioada neoimpresionista, Dali s-a apropiat de tehnicile cubiste, apoi de miscarea suprarealista, pe care a descoperit-o o data cu stabilirea sa la Paris, in 1927. In grupul suprarealistilor a cunoscut-o pe viitoarea sa sotie, Gala, impreuna cu care s-a stabilit, din 1930, la Cadaques, Spania. A murit in 1989.
