Robert Desnos s-a nascut pe 4-VII-1900 la Paris si a murit pe 8-VI-1945. Un elev mediocru in tinerete, se indragostete de literatura si incepe sa scrie poezii. Impreuna cu Louis Aragon, Paul Eluard si Andre Breton, Desnos pune bazele miscarii suprarealiste in literatura.Insusi Breton il considera "Profetul" miscarii. Primele poeme ii apar in revista dadaista "Littérature" in 1919.In 1922 isi vede publicata prima carte "Prose Selavy" o colectie de aforisme suprarealiste.Tot in acest an il cunoaste pe poetul Benjamin Peret si, impreuna, incep sa practice scrierea automata, in cele mai multe cazuri sub hipnoza. In 1926 compune "The Night of Loveless Nights" poem liric inchinat singuratatii, paradoxal, scris in stil clasic, mai asemanator poeziei lui Baudelaire decat poeziei suprarealiste. Samuel Taylor "Estese" Coleridge (1772-1834) Samuel Taylor Coleridge was born in Ottery St. Mary on 21 October 1772, youngest of the ten children of John Coleridge, a minister, and Ann Bowden Coleridge. He was often bullied as a child by Frank, the next youngest, and his mother was apparently a bit distant, so it was no surprise when Col1 ran away at age seven. He was found early the next morning by a neighbor, but the events of his night outdoors frequently showed up in imagery in his poems (and his nightmares) as well as the notebooks he kept for most of his adult life. John Coleridge died in 1781, and Col was sent away to a London charity school for children of the clergy. He stayed with his maternal uncle2. Col was really quite a prodigy; he devoured books and eventually earned first place in his class. Tom Waits
In the 1970s, Tom Waits combined a lyrical focus on desperate, lowlife characters with a persona that seemed to embody the same lifestyle, which he sang about in a raspy, gravelly voice. From the '80s on, his work became increasingly theatrical as he moved into acting and composing. Growing up in southern California, Waits attracted the attention of manager Herb Cohen, who also handled Frank Zappa, and was signed by him at the beginning of the 1970s, resulting in the material later released as The Early Years and The Early Years, Vol. 2. Hal Sirowitz (born 1949) is an American poet. Sirowitz first began to attract attention at the Nuyorican Poets Cafe where he was a frequent competitor in their Friday Night Poetry Slam. He eventually made the 1993 Nuyorican Poetry Slam team, and competed in the 1993 National Poetry Slam (held that year in San Francisco) along with his Nuyorican teammates Maggie Estep, Tracie Morris and Regie Cabico. Sirowitz would later perform his poetry on stages across the country, and on television programs such as MTV's Spoken Word: Unplugged and PBS's The United States of Poetry. He has written six books on poetry and is arguably best known for the volumes Mother Said, My Therapist Said and Father Said. Sirowitz is a 1994 recipient of an NEA Fellowship in Poetry and is the former Poet Laureate of Queens, New York.
