KIKobayashi Issa
Kobayashi Issa (1763-1828) a fost un poet japonez. *** Kobayashi Issa (1763-1827) - original name Kobayashi Nobuyki - Also called Kobayashi Yataro, born in some sources on May 5, 1763 Kobayashi Issa was born in Kashiwabara, Shinano province (now part of Shinano Town, Nagano Prefecture), a son of a farmer. His father was widowed a few years after Issa was born. Issa was looked after by his grandmother until his father remarried. During this period, he started to study haiku under a local poet, Shimpo. Issa's troubles with his stepmother started when she gave birth to a son. Later Issa complainen that he was beaten "a hundred times a day." In 1777, at the age of fourteen, he was sent by his father to Edo (Tokyo today), where he studied haiku under the poets Mizoguchi Sogan and Norokuan Chikua (died 1790). KTKi No Tsurayuki
Poet (waka) japonez din era Heian. A trăit (probabil) între anii 872 și 945. *** Ki no Tsurayuki (872-945) was a Japanese author, poet and courtier of the Heian period. Tsurayuki was a son of Ki no Mochiyuki. He became a waka poet in the 890s. In 905, under the order of Emperor Daigo, he was one of four poets selected to compile the Kokin Wakashū, an anthology of poetry. After holding a few offices in Kyoto, he was appointed the provincial governor of Tosa province and stayed there from 930 until 935. Later he was presumably appointed the provincial governor of Suo province, since it was recorded that he held a waka party (Utaai) at his home in Suo. He is well-known for his waka and is counted as one of the Thirty-six Poetry Immortals selected by Fujiwara no Kinto. He was also known as one of the editors of the Kokin Wakashū. Percy attended Sion House Academy from 1802-4 and then Eton, where the young intellectual and idealist encountered the public school system of \"fagging,\" in which upperclass boys tyrannized their juniors, who ran errands and acted as servants. John Steinbeck
John Steinbeck (1902-1968), born in Salinas, California, came from a family of moderate means. He worked his way through college at Stanford University but never graduated. In 1925 he went to New York, where he tried for a few years to establish himself as a free-lance writer, but he failed and returned to California. After publishing some novels and short stories, Steinbeck first became widely known with Tortilla Flat (1935), a series of humorous stories about Monterey paisanos. Steinbeck's novels can all be classified as social novels dealing with the economic problems of rural labour, but there is also a streak of worship of the soil in his books, which does not always agree with his matter-of-fact sociological approach. My name is Tudor Damian, but friends call me Tudy. I was born April 12, 1984, in Bistrita, Romania. I have been living in Cluj-Napoca since 2003. A few things about me: I work in System Administration for a hosting company in the US, and I’m interested in technology, web standards and systems and network security. I also like anything that has to do with astronomy & astrology, photography, chess, logic puzzles, new-age music and oriental philosophy. As far as my literary preferences go, I like "classic" Sci-Fi (Isaac Asimov, Frank Herbert, Arthur C. Clarke, Douglas Adams) and English poetry (William Blake, Edgar Allan Poe). Over the years, I won a few prizes at local and national poetry and prose contests, and had my texts published in a few magazines. Seamus Heaney (born 13 April 1939) is an Irish poet, writer and lecturer who was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1995. He currently lives in Dublin. Seamus Heaney was born on April 13, 1939 into a family of nine children at the family farmhouse called Mossbawn, between Castledawson and Toomebridge in Northern Ireland.
