ASAnna Sewell
Anna Sewell (30 March 1820 – 25 April 1878) was an English novelist, best known as the author of the classic novel Black Beauty. Anna Mary Sewell was born in Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, England into a devoutly Quaker family. Her father was Isaac Phillip Sewell (1793-1879), and her mother, Mary Wright Sewell (1798 - 1884) was a successful author of children's books. Anna Sewell had one sibling, a younger brother named Philip Sewell. Anna Sewell was largely educated at home. When Anna was twelve years old, the family moved to Stoke Newington, where Sewell attended school for the first time. James Arlington Wright s-a născut la 13 decembrie 1927 în Martins Ferry, Ohio, SUA. Și-a făcut studiilela Kennyon College, la Universitatea din Viena. A fost profesor la Hunter College, perioadă în care a realizat traduceri remarcabile din opera unor scriitori precum Georg Trakl, Pablo Neruda, Herman Hesse ș.a. 1937 / 1993 S-a manifestat ca luptator fervent pentru eliberarea nationala a romanilor din Republica Moldova si Bucovina, in 1987 si mai incoace scriind unele poezii preponderent retorice, de o larga au dienta: Ce vor scriitorii?, Unire, moldoveni!, Celor ce pun graiul la vot, Un popor de felul nostru, Matern la Bucovina etc. Ion Vatamanu a fost un reformator indraznet al poeziei roma nesti din stanga Prutului, riscand in 1962 sa dea o carte de versuri libere, albe, deosebite de cele cultivate la noi in epoca. Apoi a tra dus din Walt Whitman, din Imant Ziedonis, asimiland creator un vers cu care nu prea eram obisnuiti. Apoi si-a ales drept metafora si simbol frunza, explorand acest motiv intr-o carte intreaga De ziua frunzei si punandu-ne din nou la incercare gusturile si pri ceperile. Dupa care se intorcea in Tara Fagilor, de unde ne aducea multe si surprinzatoare Secunde cu munti. Pana ne-am obisnuit cu el si l-am simtit Atat de mult al pamantului (e titlul volumului sau din 1990)...
