It would have been so good

It would have been so good
if fondness
had penetrated from my soul
into your soul
like two communicant vessels
or, as the wise Socrates said:
“like water passing through the wool wick
from the full vessel to the empty one”.
It would have been so good !
But it wasn’t meant to be !
In lenght of time
our touches have had a strange effect.
Seemingly, a shore has been
spoiled by too many waves !
We powerlessly watch
the high tide and low tide…
We care too much about the sin
and, dumb with fear,
we run away one from the other.
