We are so alike

to each other,

and yet so different

and so listless

to each other...

We meet daily on our way

and avoid to look into each other’s eyes.

Sometimes we listen to our neighbours,

but we don't hear them,

obsessed by our daily problems.

We hide as the rats in the houses,

attracted by vacuity

and we do not look for each other,

and do not find each other any longer,

and even forget our God.

We sometimes pity somebody’s absence,

departed from us,

but it is much too little…

We are so alike

and yet so different

and so listless

at the other one's pains and joys.
