- “Pourquoi il est si maigre ce chaton?
- A-t-il été nourri?”
While it is true that,
When the Great Wall was built,
It didn’t matter
“On which side”
A silky red banner
(woven from a witch’s hair, legend has it)
Would have been raised and flown.
Every pebble could have been summoned
By the power of an enchanted lyre
To form the dividing barrier,
And each one would have possessed
The love for travelling,
As much as the fox
From Saint-Exupery’s fairy tale,
(again, a slender rouge haired predator).
But the creature was restricted to Earth,
And it was up to the Little Prince
To descend from his B-612 asteroid
For it to experience being tamed.
Certainly, the Aggstein Castle still offers
The most fitting abode
(be it as a prison, visiting residence,
or just a rampart from where to release
their flying bird messengers from)
For some Pre-Raphaelite virtuous ladies
(albeit tempted by lustful Arabian rulers
far beyond their lands),
Staunch, devoted Christian knights,
Forever young wizards or chroniclers from the lore
(whose present-day embodiments
cannot refuse a Chantilly cream)
Without being of Aquitanian descend,
The little kitty mentioned at the very beginning
Had a lion heart.
