AND WHAT IS A TEAR?
And what is a tear
Running down your cheek?
Is it a drop of dew
Embracing your eye
Which is of such a deep colour
That lakes wonder in stillness
When you mirror your face
In their clearness?
Is it a twinkling star
That springs out
Of your heart
When touched in its
Deepest strings
By the sound
Of my voice?
Is it a piece of
Your soul’s mirror,
Smithereens from the
Crystal walls
That surround your
Inner freedom?
Is it the key that
Betrays your real identity,
The beloved tear that
Reminds you and
Tells me who you really are?
Is it the transparent firefly
Kissing your face through my lips,
Washing away all the stains
And bitter tastes,
Revealing your blushing cheeks
When you discover in amazement
Your reflection
In the mirror of life?
