So precious are the happy moments
that you should never let them flee from you
and take refuge in timeless worlds
Paint them, instead, in vivid colours
and hang the picture on a wall,
or turn them into rhyme
Do not repress your happiness,
let art disclose the feelings
of your enraptured heart
Let the clock tick away the time
and never ask but – what’s the year we are in?
