A flicker of light

Your soul is like a flicker,
in the twilight of life
only the full moon’s light
filtered through the clouds
will waken it
Your eagle’s falling at your feet,
no longer can it twirl above;
your thoughts are wand’ring round
or drowning in the depth –
an ocean out of which they sprout like fish;
you’re hiding from the world
you will refrain your tears
wail turns into a moan
Shedding the scales of the past, and glowing,
changed into the red cap of a mushroom,
covered with fallen leaves your body
is climbing mount Sinai
to take a breath of bracing air.
