by the sound

on the phone
you may never realize
how you affect me
like a deep, sweet drop
from some cooling, sparkling well
the words that fall
from your lips
water the center of my soul
I wouldn\'t ask you
to believe me
but someday
place your hand
here
and feel the swelling
in my chest
that your voice
creates
and imagine
if you will
how the cool pressure
of your touch
will change
my life
forever.
