the fragrant pungent aroma fills the air
zig zagging moisture scents like a hikers trail
tracing the path back to the pot of black gold
pouring the umber fluid into my china cup
nostrils are drenched with steamy vapors
delighting the senses with anticipation
tipping the porcelain chamber cautiously
sipping carefully the hot liquid treasure
tepid treat of caffeinated Columbian flow
dark and warm gently heating my lips
smoothly it slides over my tongue
torrid pleasure slowly soothes my throat
its creamy texture, a lotion to my palate
delicate sweetness begs me to take more
savoring the bitter laced drink, teasing my taste
flowing through my veins like a heated river
permeating warmth throughout my entire being
a rush overcomes me with tingling glow
so much like you
the bitter sweet taste of love.
