"Ode to myself" by Ofelia Dina

Succumb to this order of bones
And freely join armies of cripples,
Rows of femoral, void loins
Creating new hollows in ripples.
Look straight in the eyes hanging bats,
They know night from day, certitude,
A cavalry formed to shoot darts,
Receive their stomp, gratitude…
Adjoin teeth from disparate places
And grind gruesome grinning, replace
Serene, cocktail smiles on your faces
With putrid whiplashes, your trace.
Display shredded cells, derma tassels,
This march has the cadence of snails
Accept autumn’s sighs as your ruffles
And welcome the beatings of gales.
