each daily incidence adds to a march of silence
we all adjoin in overlapping rows
we crowd, we mesh, we overstep each other and
over breathe the fumes of rotting flesh
we pull and pull again on ropes’ ends, stretching
these horizontal channels, dwellings tight,
constricting walls, immobile faces sketching
reminiscence of scribbles in first light
magnetique ribbons, tongues with carved out gashes,
purloining bouncing echoes, tracers’ sounds,
we slash with lightening strokes through powdered
pouncing, building a permanence on shaking ground
