In the waiting line…”for?”
If I were given the power to choose a thought
I would immediately remember for what I once fought…
No light seems to disclose in our mystifying world
As distance softly combines with closeness unfurled
Had I heard the broken truth when our eyes smiled again,
I would have uttered my thoughts, hopefully not in vain
The mind perceives no issue to elicit when I’m there
Although the soul constantly shouts “It’s simply not fair”
Remembering misplaced pictures that would never go away
I suddenly notice a gaze whispering: “It will not end today”
Once more, life offered safeness, but only for an hour…
As the present began to crawl and fade like an open flower.
Cannot comprehend why I’m obliged to seek my frail heart
When it is the shiest witness that broke everything apart.
This instant, I remain in the waiting room to discover a friend
Who knows how my perceptions and thoughts come to bend.
