Fly Away
There are times when people cry
Because they said an untimely: “Goodbye”
A person’s soul just learned how to fly
It went peaceful way up high
Your mind keeps saying: “It’s unfair”
A vale of sorrow is what you wear
Pure tears repeatedly show you care
Still, don’t fall in that valley called despair
Don’t you think his heart would have wanted you
To rise up from the sadness you’ve fallen into?
And accept the truth you had to face
Truly believe he is in a better place
Don’t feel bad if something uncovers your smile
When you thought it became a lost lily of the Nile
There is nothing wrong. Slowly enlighten your soul
At the moment, try to view that as a goal
Because the person you knew so well
Found a beautiful everlasting bell
A song of peace comes from the sky
It says: “Please my dear, do not cry
I have taken off, my wings are lighter
Now I want your spirit to be brighter
Continue what you have already begun
I’ll be watching from somewhere above the sun”
Take my word, believe what I say
As humans we must value each day
And remember that the ones who flew
Are guarding us, me, and you too…
