There were once two girls
Their eyes were as shiny as pearls
They got along pretty well,
Never said farewell
You could say they were twins
And this is how the story begins
Each one of us has two sides
Each one of us has two insides
But there is a part that guides…
Guides us and helps us to decide
But let’s get back to the two girls
Whose eyes were as shiny as pearls
One of them could see the blue sky
And asked all the time what could she do to fly?
And the other girl would always reply
“You cannot do that, so don’t even try”
She would always ask why
Why would the other one want to fly?
She could not feel that desire
It was not burning like an open fire
So, there were two girls
With long shiny curls
Michelle and Danielle
Who would never say farewell
Let us stop… and ask yourself a question
Can you make a confession?
What do you think, reader...
Which one of them is the leader?
Haven’t you figured everything out?
I believe there is no doubt
What everything is about
This is about something you cannot ignore
You cannot ignore it anymore
The poem is not about a war
It is about the fact that you can easily open a door
And find outside a tor
What you have to do next is to find a way
To salute destiny with a simple: „Hey”
At this „meeting” you should not delay
Because the perfect opportunity is not here to stay
Optimism is the middle name of Michelle
And pessimism the middle name of Danielle
They are two different sides that we embrace
Sometimes, one with much more grace.
Hold your arms around optimism all day long
And try to sing a happy song
Or else I’ll think something is wrong
But please be very strong…
Life is not as you think it is
Well, it’s like a quiz
You answer right and you have a chance
But don’t forget to take a firm stance
Rest my case…
