How can I tell you?

Why do you wish to haunt me so?
Why do you want me to suffer like this?
Is it not your will to be at peace
with all that is around you?
Only in my dreams do you love me back,
but even then it is a false love.
For I know of your plot;
you\'re twisted scheme:
break the heart, eat the soul.
You slowly consume me. Why?
Why taunt me with your presence
then snatch it from me?
What joy do you get in that?
Is it the joy of victory?
That knowing how you have decimated
your only chance at a happily ever after?
Do you wish to be sullen all your life?
There IS someone here who thinks
that you are worth saving
from yourself.
But you torment this someone with your lurking presence,
and pulling it away at the final second,
before true love
can form.
