Those were the days
when you lied to me sweetly
filling my hands
with your burden so pretty.
Verses of beauty were spoken at night
half of them darkness, the other half light.
Sky-born I thought you were
ashore blue remoteness
your tresses were moonbeams
your lips full of softness.
Sermons of hatred were chanted at night
all of them darkness, none of them light.
Gone are the days
when I knew how to fly
dark-years of silence
felled me from the sky.
