I can see in your eyes that
Your ready to take the next step
On these fragile stairs of mine.
But I can’t let you go up
As someone else is on.
It’s not fair for us to try to create
Something that could never be born.
I’ll forever be in love with my past
But I would give you my heart,
Though I cannot be yours.
