Because you were kind to me

I fell in love with you.

Because you were honest

I learned to be honest

Because you trusted me

I learned to trust you.

Because you loved me

I learned to be strong.

Because you listened to me

I learned to be patient.

Because you believed in me

I learned self respect.

Because you saw the good and bad in me

I learned to tell the difference.

Because you were there for me

I\'ve learned to be a better friend.

Because you took the time to know me

I learned about myself.

Because you left me

I found my weaknesses.

Because you hurt me

I found my inner strength.

Because of you so many things have changed.

But life without change isn\'t life at all.

And life without a broken heart

Is life without learning a lesson.
