Nació en Sala Capriasca (cantón suizo del Ticino) el 22 de mayo de 1892. A los cuatro años se trasladó con sus padres a Argentina. Vivió en Santa Fe, Rosario y Buenos Aires. Terminó su vida suicidándose ahogada en la playa de la Perla en el mar de Plata el 25 de octubre de 1938. Luis Hernández (1941-1977), considerado uno de los mayores poetas de su generación, llegó a publicar en vida solo un trío de breves poemarios a principios de la década de 1960. It is not known for certain the exact date of his birth, but since according to Spanish tradition the Christening was carried through very closely after the birth, there is no doubt that his birthday was in 1547. The actual date of the Christening was October 9th, 1547 at the city of Alcala de Henares. Since then, little is known of his childhood, other than he lived with his family in Valladolid, Madrid, and other Andalusian cities. Finally, they settled in Madrid, and afterwards, he became the attendant to the Cardinal Acquaviva in Italy in 1569 .
