JOJohn James Osborne
English dramatist. He began his theatrical career as an actor and playwright in provincial English repertory theaters. Osborne\'s plays usually focus on an individual character and the sheer force of his language rather than on action. His first commercial success was Look Back in Anger (1956), concerning a restless and vociferous young man of the working class who is at war with himself and society; it became the seminal work for the so-called angry young men. His other plays depict the frustration of living without hope in a world filled with false values. Among Osborne\'s other plays are The Entertainer (1957), Luther (1961), Inadmissible Evidence (1964), A Patriot for Me (1965), The End of Me Old Cigar (1974), Watch It Come Down (1976), and Déjà vu (1991). He also wrote the screenplay for Tom Jones (1963).

The Irish poet and dramatist William Butler Yeats (1865-1939) was the leader of the Irish Literary Renaissance during the early 20th century. Yeats\'s early lyrical poetry and drama drew inspiration from Irish legend and occult learning, but his later writing became increasingly engaged with his own time. W. B. Yeats, b. Dublin, June 13, 1865, d. Jan. 28, 1939, was perhaps the greatest English-language poet of the 20th century. The major defining elements of Yeats\'s poetic career were visible by his 24th year. Poète et dramaturge, né en 1924 à Saïgon. En 1927, une tragédie familiale le rend orphelin de père et mère. Sa vie et son oeuvre seront profondément marquées par ce drame. Le premier poème que garda Laugier, fut écrit et dit en public en 1942. Dédié à la mémoire de sa mère, il ne le publiera qu\'en 1978 dans Rituel pour une ode, Prix Apollinaire en 1979. La même année 1942, après avoir écrit, joué et mis en scène sa première pièce, entre alors au Centre du spectacle où il se perfectionnera en art dramatique. Ses premiers poèmes paraitront dans la revue de Pierre Seghers en décembre 1945. Bien que jouant au Théâtre les recueils vont se succéder : de La Huitième Couleur à L\'espace muet et Les Bogues (ed.
