Né à Bar-sur-Aube le 27 juin 1884, il commence par être employé des postes et finit comme professeur de philosophie à la Sorbonne après avoir enseigné la physique et la chimie au lycée. Directeur de l’Institut d’Histoire des Sciences, il est élu à l’Académie des sciences morales et politiques en 1955. Á une époque de grandes révolutions scientifiques, Gaston Bachelard s’est efforcé de faire la part de l'imagination dans la théorie scientifique et, inversement, de proposer une science objective de l'imagination poétique. Francis Ponge (n. 27 martie 1899, Montpellier - d. 6 august 1988, Bar-sur-Loup, Alpes-Maritimes) a fost un celebru poet francez modernist. Inițial asociat cu suprarealismul, a sintetizat repede o formulă personală care îmbină poezia și eseul și care are întotdeauna ca subiect un lucru sau altul - de unde ideea de "poezie a obiectelor", obiecte ce se substituie în mare măsură prezenței umane. În literatura română, influența lui Ponge se resimte la mai mulți poeți precum Emil Brumaru, Constantin Abăluță, George Almosnino, Petre Vasile Fati, Gheorghe Grigurcu, Mircea Valeriu Popa, ș.a. They had one daughter, Holly Bight, born in 1924, conceived on a leisurely ocean voyage California via the Panama Canal that they took to celebrate the publication of his first book. Stevens became interested in verse-writing at Harvard, submitting material to the Harvard Advocate, but he would be 36 before his first work was published in 1915. Alfred Tennyson, 1st Baron Tennyson, FRS (6 August 1809 – 6 October 1892) was Poet Laureate of the United Kingdom and remains one of the most popular poets in the English language. Tennyson excelled at penning short lyrics, including "In the valley of Cauteretz", "Break, break, break", "The Charge of the Light Brigade", "Tears, idle tears" and "Crossing the Bar". Much of his verse was based on classical mythological themes, although In Memoriam A.H.H. was written to commemorate his best friend Arthur Hallam, a fellow poet and classmate at Trinity College, Cambridge, who was engaged to Tennyson's sister, but died from a cerebral hemorrhage before they were married. Clément Pansaers (1 mai 1885, Neerwinden - 31 octombrie 1922, Bruxelles) a fost principalul reprezentant al dadaismului în Belgia. A început să scrie poezii în 1916 după ce a abandonat cariera sa de egiptologist. Împreună cu câțiva avangardiști din Bruxelles, a fondat revista Résurrection, ce a publicat texte timpurii de Carl Einstein, Pierre Jean Jouve, Franz Werfel ș.a. Prima sa carte cu adevărat "dadaistă" este "Pan-Pan au Cul du Nu Nègre", publicat în 1920. He was born in Paris, not, as was once thought, at Dourdan (in today's Essonne département) in 1645. His family was middle class, and his reference to a certain Geoffroy de La Bruyère, a crusader, is only a satirical illustration of a method of self-ennoblement common in France as in some other countries. Indeed he himself always signed the name Delabruyère in one word, as evidence of this. He could trace his family back at least as far as his great-grandfather, who had been a strong Leaguer. La Bruyère's own father was controller general of finance to the Hôtel de Ville.
