Known as the "Hoosier Poet", "National Poet" and the "Children's Poet," [2] he started his career during 1875 writing newspaper verse in Indiana dialect for the Indianapolis Journal. His verse tended to be humorous or sentimental, and of the approximately one-thousand poems that Riley published, over half are in dialect. Claiming that “simple sentiments that come direct from the heart”[1] were the reason for his success, Riley vended verse about ordinary topics that were "heart high. "Riley was a bestselling author during the early 1900s and earned a steady income from royalties; he also traveled and gave public readings of his poetry. My name is Tudor Damian, but friends call me Tudy. I was born April 12, 1984, in Bistrita, Romania. I have been living in Cluj-Napoca since 2003. A few things about me: I work in System Administration for a hosting company in the US, and I’m interested in technology, web standards and systems and network security. I also like anything that has to do with astronomy & astrology, photography, chess, logic puzzles, new-age music and oriental philosophy. As far as my literary preferences go, I like "classic" Sci-Fi (Isaac Asimov, Frank Herbert, Arthur C. Clarke, Douglas Adams) and English poetry (William Blake, Edgar Allan Poe). Over the years, I won a few prizes at local and national poetry and prose contests, and had my texts published in a few magazines. Cecília Benevides de Carvalho Meireles (1901-1964, Rio de Janeiro) was a Brazilian writer and educator, known principally as a poet. She is a canonical name of Brazilian Modernism, one of the great female poets in the Portuguese language, and is widely considered the best poetess from Brazil, though she rightly combatted the word "poetess" because of gender discrimination. She traveled in the Americas in the 1940s, on one trip visiting the U.S.A, Mexico, and on others Argentina and Uruguay, and Chile. In the summer of 1940 she gave lectures at the University of Texas, Austin. Miroslav "Mika" Antiæ (March 14, 1932 – June 24, 1986) was a Serbian poet, journalist and painter. Antiæ was born in Mokrin, Vojvodina, Serbia (then Yugoslavia). He wrote poems, articles, dramas, movie and TV scripts and documentaries. Mika also acted in several movies, and was an amateur painter. His best known poem is "Srem", in which he mourns for dead in World War II and describes the beauty of Srem using "beæarac" song form. He is well known as a bohemian. Mika Antiæ is best known as a children and youth poet, a master of delicate and gentle sentiments. His bohemian, hard-drinking lifestyle is best illustrated by a barely translatable pun about him: "Èika Jova deci, èika Mika Antiæ dva deci" "Èika Jova deci" meaning "Mister Jova to the children", referring to Jovan Jovanoviæ Zmaj, a known children's poet. Austin's stories, constructed as long letters signed with the name Jonathan Dunwell, presented the Rugg story as a long-standing New England legend, about a strong and obstinate man who got lost in a thunderstorm in 1770 and wandered the roads ever afterwards.
