ACAdelbert von Chamisso
Adelbert von Chamisso (January 30, 1781 – August 21, 1838) was a German poet and botanist. He was born Louis Charles Adélaïde de Chamissot at the château of Boncourt in Champagne, France, the ancestral seat of his family. Driven out by the French Revolution, his parents settled in Berlin, where in 1796 young Chamisso obtained the post of page-in-waiting to the queen, and in 1798 entered a Prussian infantry regiment as ensign. His family was shortly thereafter permitted to return to France; he remained in Germany and continued his military career. He had little education, but sought distraction from the dull routine of the Prussian military service in assiduous study. In collaboration with Varnhagen von Ense, he founded (1803) the Berliner Musenalmanach, in which his first verses appeared. Ivo Andriæ, singurul sârb laureat al premiului Nobel, a terminat gimnaziul la Sarajevo. A studiat istoria la Zagreb, Cracovia și Graz. În timpul primului război mondial a fost închis de regimul austro-ungar ca deținut politic, iar între cele două conflagrații mondiale a lucrat ca diplomat în slujba Regatului Iugoslaviei. Ben Doyle was born in Warsaw, New York, in 1973. He completed his undergraduate education at the State University of New York at Oswego and West Virginia University. His first collection of poetry, Radio, Radio, (Louisiana State University Press, 2001) was selected by Susan Howe for the 2000 Walt Whitman Award. He received his MFA from the Iowa Writers’ Workshop, where he was awarded a Teaching-Writing Fellowship. His poems have appeared in Colorado Review and Fence. He currently lives in Iowa City.

Ferdinand Ludwig Adam von Saar (born September 30, 1833 in Vienna, Austria; died July 24, 1906 in Döbling) was an Austrian novelist, playwright and poet. Together with Marie von Ebner-Eschenbach he was one of the most important realistic writers in the German language of the ending 19th century. ======================= Ferdinand von Saar wurde am 30. He was born in Rutherford, New Jersey, a town near the city of Paterson. He attended public school in Rutherford, New Jersey until 1897, then was sent to study at Château de Lancy near Geneva, Switzerland, the Lycée Condorcet in Paris, France, for two years and Horace Mann High School in New York City. Then, in 1902, he entered the University of Pennsylvania Medical School. During his time at Penn, Williams befriended Ezra Pound, Hilda Doolittle (H.D.) and the painter Charles Demuth. These friendships supported his growing passion for poetry.
