Samuel Dashiell Hammett; May 27, 1894 – January 10, 1961) was an American author of hard-boiled detective novels and short stories. Philip Arthur Larkin, CH, CBE, FRSL (9 August 1922 – 2 December 1985) is commonly regarded as one of the greatest English poets of the latter half of the twentieth century.
