Tennessee Williams, pseudonimul literar al lui Thomas Lanier Williams, (n. 26 martie 1911 – d. 25 februarie 1983) a fost un dramaturg, poet și romancier american, laureat al premiului Pulitzer pentru dramă pentru piesa de teatru A Streetcar Named Desire (Un tramvai numit dorință) în 1948 și ulterior pentru piesa Cat On a Hot Tin Roof (Pisica pe acoperișul fierbinte) în 1955. Angela Olive Stalker was born in Eastbourne, Sussex, England on the 8th May 1940. War had broken out in Europe and she was evacuated as a child to Yorkshire to live with her maternal grandmother, a working-class, matriarchal, domineering, feminist bread-\'n-buta granny of the north of England. Carter left school and started work at the age of nineteen for the Croydon Advertiser, following in the footsteps of her father - who was a Scottish journalist working in London. One year later she met and married Paul Carter. She was to divorce him almost twelve years after, in 1972. She studied English at the University of Bristol and built on her already vast cultural and literary baggage. Her mother was a great literary influence on her, as she devoured book after book and author after author. Bernard Werber (born September 18, 1961 in Toulouse) is a French science fiction writer active since the 1990s. Werber was born in Toulouse (Haute-Garonne) in a Jewish family on 18 September 1961. Beginning at the age of 14, he wrote stories for a fanzine, an experience which would later be useful in his novels, such as L'Empire des anges (The Empire of the Angels). After leaving school, he became a Scientific journalist in Le Nouvel Observateur and Eurêka, the magazine of the Cité des sciences et de l'industrie in Paris for about a decade. English dramatist. He began his theatrical career as an actor and playwright in provincial English repertory theaters. Osborne\'s plays usually focus on an individual character and the sheer force of his language rather than on action. His first commercial success was Look Back in Anger (1956), concerning a restless and vociferous young man of the working class who is at war with himself and society; it became the seminal work for the so-called angry young men. His other plays depict the frustration of living without hope in a world filled with false values.
