What is it about You

that keeps my heart from setting itself free?

Why do my tears still linger

in the sweet dark reminiscence of Us?

the Us that refuses to fade with time,

the Us that just won`t stop haunting my every dream,

my every breath...

I shut my eyes so tight they bleed tears,

but the image of You still burns inside them...

I squeeze my soul to death trying to silence it,

but it still whispers your name, over and over...

I fight my every cell, I curse my every second of light,

but then... I just let go...

one more time, just this one last time...

I let myself drift again in a sea of memories,

Your smile hits me with every wave,

Your voice sucks me down in a whirlpool of

every word we ever said to each other,

I`m soaked in your perfume and I`m drowning...

into the past of You,

the emptiness of today

and the nothingness of tomorrow.

Am I a masochist?

Or is it just something about You

that keeps my heart from setting itself free?
