Surviving to exist
Existing to prove
Proving existence
Ridiculous hangover
Hangover from excessively consumed past
Past overwhelming present
Present troubled by each falling day
Days filled by unrecognized emotions
Emotions faking smiles
Smiles hiding tears
Tears whispering hurt
Hurt ruled by memories
Memories seeking colors
Colors lost in paintings
Paintings done against water
Water flowing towards future
Future frightened and screaming
Screaming by the banks of life
Life licking scars
Scars deep and visible
Visibility preventing happiness
And the one, me, in between.
