The Green Flash

On the bridge.

4 men and a woman; on average 37 years old,

with a file of valid certificates, and a safety number;

bringing tribute to the Sunset by sharing hugs, laughing , singing.

What was at the beginning fun has switched to a serious interest in.

We all get ready to wait attentively,

in silent staring at the far end of the sea, where the sun was preparing to ascend below the horizon.

A spoken voice, betrays annoyance confronted with a delay:

“Today the sun is too slow in set “;

As seconds waved in the echo of the sounded thought, the second after took it away from….

In such, we all remain bewitched by the sun’s downward motion;

he is now one with the horizon- line;

Could be this time…

…

As The Earth since ancient was not taught how to do to wait;

he keeps ongoing the cycle of changes;

The time to moon the afternoon away has come;

and so the Sun has gone this time

taking the sudden burst of bright green light .

It’s just before a departure.

The Captain, the 1st Officer, the 2nd Officer, the Quarter Master and Marine Admin.

all have resumed the work.
