And then I met you
Among all those grey people
You were red, then blue and
Then I discovered you were
Shining with all the rainbow’s colours.
How could I not fall into that light?
And I was happy to make you happy
to share, listen, begin to care more and more
prepare myself for a new friendship
my mind was up to it and ready to deal with anything.
but it was not ready to handle the falling in love part
and I acted like the child I once rejected in the past
and now I’m back here, soon to be gone
while you’re there, not seeing me cry.
And I never thought it would hurt this bad
Welcome stone in the throat,
Diamonds falling down.
And it was so perfect some time ago
That I couldn’t believe it.
So why give people a chance?
Discover they are gorgeous
After the first sight, the second
After all those talks, walks and emotions
And then watch how miles separate,
Outline wishes of all the best
With everything old and new
When I know I can’t do anything anymore.
I feel like I lost someone I shouldn’t have.
No! It’s exactly like this:
I can’t start anything with someone who isn’t here
For an e-mail doesn’t replace a smile,
A face to face discussion or a comforting shoulder.
And in the shell I’m in, this does not feel right.
What can I say?
Everyone shines in merely one shade
While I can only think about
The exquisite colours you always portray.
