The time for hide ‘n’ seek is not yet up,
the last, later the first has not showed up
the time for peek ‘a’ boo is not done for
and we still grope for what’s been always and of yore
the hora dancers wid’n their circle round

I can hear it from the distance is it treat or is it tree
impatience’s great and all the kids’ time is soon to flee

tick ‘n’ tack I count the flock
‘f guesses gassed of wasted west as all the rest

the chase pursues the shadow in the past
