Vespers of Life

Substantial things of life I sought
when I was perilously wasted,
and these came to me in plethoric
numbers, incredulously.
Plunging deep into the paradigm
of rattlling, headless shadows,
I fought, helplessly, those dreary
arrivals of sad and melancholic
passions, hidden, beneath
the façade,
these superior things wrapped
themselves in.
Substantial things of life I sought
when I was fabulously peaked,
and these came to me scarcely
in monotonic absurdities.
I plunged deep into the quietude
of dignified darkness, gemmed with
static imageries which toyed
shamelessly with these substantial things
that lay there unclad.
But could anyone of the two stop
me from being hitch-hiked to
the vespers of life that
deluded me into catching the
soundless flux of vespers?
Posterity yet to decree it’s verdict.
