Do The Flu

All night long
in a pool of sweat
running down
the hair
on my chest
...a discreet pain
in the kidneys.
These dreams
layer upon layer.
They seem all alike,
yet slightly incongruous.
It\'s like moving
on a steamy disco floor,
going through the motions
again and again.
Lastly the finishing steps;
turn around, stop,
grab the phone,
call in sick.
