Poor old Enola Gay
I.
How?d you like to be named this way
then spend unrest in a widows grave?
Please to Saints, protect her there
she holds the Devil?s name in error
and bears the fury of hells barrage
as the model on a fuselage
Four walls wrath tenfold in suns
points straight to where the deeds were done
now fission eyeslits fallout dreams
fill her rest with acid screams
one hundred thousand vapor cries
swim in her bones and gnaw her thighs
ten thousand mangled shoeless trikes
inch quiet towards her playground strikes
one thousand geisha silkworms spin
kimono death songs for her kin
one hundred fathers hari
kari the pain
and march deaths army
towards her name
ten elders in memory
live
Enola Gay
whom they can?t forgive
II.
Who was that nameless bombardier
or captain brave who steered them clear
from flak filled slanted bullet eyes
that took their bombers to our skies?
Who armed the boy cold
in the bombers womb
now sleeps in Harry?s
hero tomb?
Which general gave the last command
to glass the beaches of Japan?
Whose science was she unaware
when Enola woke the world in scare?
