My beautiful baby,

Forgive me for I have given you birth so early

Forgive me for you’ll be raised in wars

And bathed in tears

And fed with dreams.

My innocent baby,

Forgive this world for love will come

Too early,

Too late

Or never.

And if it comes

Forgive it for it will hurt and leave

Or be unshared

Or be unfair

Or transient.

My baby,

When you grow up forgive this life

For it won’t always be pleasant

Or rich

Or warm

Or long.
