weary cops cling to the rainbow
teargas/ tears do matter?
let the dead band play/ for a while
rush back home with a fistful of
glass
broken windows always meant/ something
& Baton Rouge anarchists are
picking the flowers
& the market traders will forever
close
& we have long forgotten the hours
and yes, we brought down the government
panic & static , & the like
& we have yet to understand the silence
of the sentinels
