My farewell

Long lost city, what is left of you?
Where is your grace and glamour?
Where is your shining?
Lost…
And then I saw it, in His right hand
The One sitting on the throne, a book
Written inside and out, sealed with seven seals…
And I saw a strong angel, which shouted with great force:
Who is worthy to open this book? But none in heaven, or on Earth,
Or under it could open it, nor look inside…
Shame…
Where is your force, that with which
You threaten and imprison your poets?
…or your musicians?
What are you, else than a cage…
In which I feel souls crawling?
Asking the breath, bleeding.
Who are you to give what heaven can’t?
Who are you to promise eternity’s dreams?
Raise your eyes and see the bleeding sky
See your souls dirty with blood, falling from the angel’s wings…
You’ve shut down heaven, you killed the hopes
Of the ones entering you.
Lower your ear and hear my farewell
For you didn’t hear my cry, as you locked me into the coffin
Alone, with only my scream.
I’m done screaming now…I’m done waiting
For the sun to rise above you…
For you see yourself above the sun.
Darkness…
And you say you’ve heard my voice…
Strange… you didn’t let me hear my own voice.
Lie…
…and you saw me…
but you’re blind.
Lie again…
Sickness…
Through all… I saw your pride…your claimed love…
Hideous, like a wingless bird…
And I tell you: It died!
Asphyxiated by the sound of money…
And you tell me I’m a ghost… pale, dressed in dark
Forgetting that your pride is devil’s eye…
I see now my road, paved with your writer’s skulls
In my looking back I see your ruins
I see the bloody sky above you…
And I ask myself what will it be?
Of you…
