if I could be a bird
I would fly to find
your sweet body
to lay on it, unkind.
if I could be a wave
your name would go to heaven,
the way the echo goes
with the scream of a raven.
if I could be
all the things I said,
I would dream no more
and you’d turn blue to red.
if I could be what I am not,
if you could be what you are not,
you’d be the same
in my heart.
